L’Équipe report this morning that Lyon have won the race to sign French teenage sensation and 16-year-old attacker Eli Wissa to a professional contract.
The current Laval (3rd division) prospect will shortly pen a deal on professional terms with Les Gones, in a move that sees OL beat Juventus, who were in pole position for several weeks, to the punch.
This deal has been orchestrated by Lyon’s Head of Scouting Florian Maurice, for a player in Wissa who has played for France at U16 level.
ELI WISSA ON ARRIVING AT OL
“I am very happy and even moved for making my family and all my loved ones proud. OL is a very big club that I have always followed. It’s a great satisfaction to wear the Lyon colors. I want to be as decisive as possible this season and get on with the pros quickly. Karim Benzema is a reference for me.”
